Gerald Scheiblehner (born February 25, 1977 ) is a former Austrian soccer player and today's soccer coach .
Career
As a player
Gerald Scheiblehner completed his youth training with the Austrian Bundesliga club SK VÖEST Linz at the time . His only station in professional football was FK Austria Wien , where he was under contract from 1996 to 2001. The midfielder could not prevail at Austria, however, his only Bundesliga appearance dates from August 28, 1998, when he came on in the game against GAK in the 75th minute. Otherwise Scheiblehner was only used for the amateurs. After his contract ended in 2001, he moved back to his home state Upper Austria, where he a. a. played for SK Eintracht Wels and SV Wallern .
As a trainer
After Scheiblehner had ended his active career as a player in 2009, he took on the dual role of coach and sporting director for the Upper Austrian league club ASKÖ Donau Linz . In the following four years he attracted attention there with good championship placements, but above all with the successful development of young players. In 2014 he switched to Union St. Florian as a trainer in the regional league , before taking over the post at the traditional Upper Austrian club SK Vorwärts Steyr a year later . Scheiblehner, who has a UEFA A license, was promoted to third in the second division with the Steyr team in the 2017/18 season . As a result, his contract was extended until 2020. In April 2019 he resigned from his post, at that time Steyr was penultimate in a relegation zone.
For the 2019/20 season he was coach of the second division club FC Juniors OÖ .
