Wilhelm Wahlmüller (born January 5, 1967 ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Wahlmüller played as a player a. a. for the lower-class clubs SK Enns and TSU Wartberg / Aist , where he also acted as co-trainer.

As a trainer

Wahlmüller initially trained as a player-coach at Union Pregarten . In 2006 he became the coach of the fifth class SV Sierning . With Sierning he was promoted to the Upper Austrian League in 2008 . For the 2009/10 season he took over the coaching position at the regional league team Union St. Florian . With St. Florian he was always able to place himself in the midfield of the Regionalliga Mitte.

In the summer of 2014 he became the coach of the league competitor FC Blau-Weiß Linz . With the Linzers he was able to become champion of the Regionalliga Mitte in 2015/16 and thus rise to professional football. After scoring only two points in the first quarter of the season and seven points behind a non-relegation place, Wahlmüller was given a leave of absence in September 2016.

In September 2017 he became the coach of the fourth division club DSG Union Perg . For the 2018/19 season he moved to league rivals ASK St. Valentin . In April 2019 he became the coach of the second division SK Vorwärts Steyr , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.

Personal

His brother Stefan (* 1975) was also a soccer player and u. a. active in the regional league for FC Blau-Weiß Linz and Union St. Florian , where he was trained by Wilhelm. After the end of his career, he worked as Wilhelm's assistant coach at the same clubs.
