The Union St. Florian is an Austrian football club from St. Florian in Upper Austria . The club plays in the Upper Austrian League , the fourth highest level in Austria. The club colors are red and white.

history

The Union St. Florian association was founded during the occupation . 1947 was the year the association was born. Initially under the name ATSV St. Florian , the club took part in official championships for the first time, but broke up a year later. 1958 was the re-establishment of the association, and from then on it only went uphill.

In 1961 the club got its first sports field, the "Turnwiesensiedlung". In 1968 the team rose for the first time. Two years later, the Union achieved the next promotion and in the following year the march through to 1st class middle was perfect. In 1987 the fourth promotion was celebrated and four years later the club got its "Sportpark". 1991 succeeded the next promotion, this time in the 2nd regional league east. The sixth and up to this point the most important promotion was achieved in 1996. With a third place in the regional league, Union St. Florian was able to advance to the third highest division in Austria, the Regionalliga Mitte. After relegation in 1999 and immediate resurgence in 2000, Union St. Florian played in the Regionalliga Mitte until 2018. In the 2017/18 season you had to be relegated to the upper league as bottom of the table.

Union St. Florian is the home club of ÖFB President Leopold Windtner .
