Robert Micheu (born July 8, 1975 in Klagenfurt ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .
Career
As a player
Micheu started his career at SK Austria Klagenfurt . For the 1993/94 season he moved to LASK . In April 1994 Micheu made his debut for LASK in the 2nd division when he was in the starting line-up against SV Ried on the 22nd day of that season . In May 1994 he scored his first goal in the second division in a 4-1 win against Kremser SC . At the end of the season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the Linzers . In August 1994 he made his debut in the top division when he was brought into play on the fourth day of the 1994/95 season against SK Vorwärts Steyr in the 88th minute for Manfred Linzmaier .
For the 1995/96 season he moved to the second division club FC Linz , for which he was not used. He then joined the league competitor SV Braunau during the winter break of that season . In the following three years he completed 86 second division games for Braunau, in which he was able to score 16 goals. In January 1999 he moved to VfB Admira Wacker Mödling . With the Lower Austrians, Micheu rose to the Bundesliga in 2000.
He scored his first Bundesliga goal in November 2000 in a 2-1 win over Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz . In the summer of 2002 he joined the second division Wiener Sportklub , with which he had to relegate in 2003, however, from the second highest division. He then returned to the 2003/04 season for the now second-rate LASK. For the 2004/05 season he moved to the regional division SV Feldkirchen . In summer 2012 he moved to SC Globasnitz , for whom he last played in June 2018. In the summer of 2018 he deposited his player pass at SV Oberglan .
As a trainer
In May 2009 Micheu became coach of the regional league team SV Feldkirchen , for which he remained active as a player until 2012. With Feldkirchen he rose to the end of the 2008/09 season from the regional league . After a season in the Carinthian league , they rose back to the regional league in 2010. In this rhythm it continued in the following two seasons: In the 2011/12 season Feldkirchen played again in fourth class and in the 2012/13 season again in third class, before they finally relegated a third time under Micheu in 2013.
In November 2016 he resigned as a coach from Feldkirchen. In January 2017 he became the coach of the fifth-rate SC Globasnitz , for which he had been an active player since 2012. He left the club after the 2017/18 season.
In October 2018 Micheu became the coach of the second division SK Austria Klagenfurt .
Personal
His brother Karl (* 1978) was also a soccer player.
