Manfred Linzmaier (born August 27, 1962 in Kufstein ) is a former Austrian soccer player and soccer coach .

Player career

Linzmaier began his career at Innsbrucker AC , then moved to the Federal Youth Performance Center in Schwaz before he was signed by SSW Innsbruck in 1980 . In 1993 he went to LASK . After two years at LASK, he moved to another Upper Austrian club, namely SK Vorwärts Steyr . After half a year in Steyr , he went back to Linz for FC Linz . His last active position was at FC Kufstein in Tyrol . Linzmaier took part in the 1990 World Cup in Italy and was used once.

Coaching career

Linzmaier began his coaching career as assistant coach to Kurt Jara at FC Tirol, where he was twice champion. After winning two championship titles, he moved to the German Bundesliga for Hamburger SV with Kurt Jara . After a year in the Hanseatic city, he followed his coach Jara to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the Palatinate. After Jara was fired, he temporarily took up the position of interim coach at Red Bull Salzburg , only to become assistant coach behind Jara again. After Kurt Jara was released from Salzburg, Linzmaier became chief scout of the cops.
