(1) 1919/20: Under the name of Arbeiter-, Turn- und Sportverein (ATuS) Innsbruck, the club took part in the qualification.
(2) 1922/23: The association is now called Arbeiter TV Innsbruck.
(3) 1925/26: Renaming to Innsbrucker Athletik Club (IAC).

The Innsbruck AC was founded on March 1st, 1919 by some football-loving members of the Innsbruck workers', gymnastics and sports club. The founding members Franz Rieder, Schuchter, Bruckmoser and the sponsor Orzag tried from the start to make the soccer section known without ever having played soccer. The first games were played with mountain boots and without any knowledge of any rules of football.

The first game was against FC Germania Innsbruck, who won it 9-0. By the autumn there were five more friendly matches, all of which ended in defeats with a goal difference of 0:57. Among them was a qualifying game for the championship 1920/21 against FC Wacker Innsbruck, which was lost 8-0. The young team was not discouraged by these failures and, under the direction of Franz Rieder, the Innsbruck workers', gymnastics and sports club took part in the 1919/20 B-class championship. In the following year 1920/21 qualification for the championship 1920/21 was accomplished. By 1937 the athletes had won the Tyrolean championship title seven times.

In 1946, after the Second World War, the section immediately achieved 1st place in the Tyrolean B-Class and thus qualified for the Tyrolean champions playoff. With four wins in this playoff, the men's division was Tyrolean champions and qualified for the Tyrolean regional league next year. In the next few years the football department always ranked in the middle until 1950/51 a league reform was carried out in western Austria and the Innsbruck AC rose to a new league, the Arlbergliga.
