The Austrian Football Championship 1930/31 was organized by the WFV association and contested by its members. The single-track II. League served as a substructure for the I. League . These leagues were only accessible to professional football clubs . In addition, other federal state associations organized state championships in different modes on an amateur basis. The respective amateur national champions then also played a master at the amateur championship.

I. League

General

The championship in the I. League was contested with 11 teams that met twice during the entire season. The Austrian soccer champion was Vienna, which won its first championship title and qualified for the Mitropa Cup in 1931 . The ÖFB Cup winner WAC was also eligible to participate. In this season, all clubs could remain in the I. League, as this was increased to 12 teams in the next year.

II. League

General

In the II. League a total of 15 teams played for promotion to the I. League, each of which met twice during the entire season. The two leaders in the table, Brigittenauer AC and SC Hakoah Vienna, were promoted to the first division. The last two in the table, SC Moravia and SC Altmannsdorf, had to move into the third division. Meanwhile, SC Neubau , SV Ostmark Wien , Donaustädter AC and SK Hasmonea Wien rose to the second leagues .

VAFÖ League

General

The championship of the Free Association of Amateur Football Clubs in Austria was contested by 12 teams in the VAFÖ League, each of which met twice during the entire season. Probably the biggest surprise came from the newcomer Gaswerk, which won the competition by a superior margin. A 7: 1 over Humanitas on the penultimate matchday brought the decision. The last two in the championship, tram and Humanitas, relegated to first class and were replaced by the first division champions SKV fire brigade Vienna (north) and the postmen from the amateur sports club Vienna (south).
