The Gmunden sports club was founded in 1921. He has been playing in the fifth-class Landesliga West since the 2019/20 season.

Stadion

The home games of SV Gmunden are played in the SEP Arena. In 2010 the lawn was converted into an artificial turf , which can also be used in winter or can be rented in the winter months. The size of the playing field is 101 × 66 meters and an automatic irrigation system is built into the field.

Table placements

In the 2013/14 season, SV Gmunden occupied 15th place in the table, which meant that they had to play against relegation in the relegation. In the relegation they prevailed against SK Admira Linz with a total score of 4: 3. In the following season, the Gmundner were able to secure fourth place in the table. SV Gmunden finished the 2015/16 season in 12th place, in 2016/17 they came third and in the 2017/18 season the Gmunden reached ninth place in the table.
