1913/14

The Austrian Football Championship 1912/13 was organized by the Lower Austrian Football Association and contested by its members. There were four equal Austrian championships, which were spread over the Austrian heartland , Bohemia , Moravia-Silesia and Poland (Galicia) and thus included all areas of Cisleithania . From today's perspective, however , when speaking of the Austrian championship of 1913, one is often limited to the first class of the NFV .

Austrian heartland

In today's Austrian heartland, the Lower Austrian Football Association (NÖV) held a championship in Lower Austria and Vienna . A championship was also held in Styria , which was organized by the German-Alpine Football Association (DAFV).

    General

The Austrian championship for Bohemia was brought into being for the first time by the DFVfB, the second branch of the ÖFV, in autumn 1912 and held in the first class. There were three eligible participants for this level, the eventual winner DFC Prague, Teplitzer FK 03 and Karlsbader FK, while 15 teams started in the second class, which were split into three districts. Here the DFC Komotau emerged victorious, who prevailed in the play-off against the DFC Aussig and DFC Warnsdorf.

    Moravia-Silesia

    Championship (Moravia-Silesia) 1913
    master DSV Troppau (2)

The Moravian-Silesian championship was held last year directly by the ÖFV, and the prize was donated personally by President Ignaz Abeles. During this season, however, the German Football Association for Moravia and Silesia (DFVfMuSch) was founded on July 15, 1913 in Mährisch-Ostrau, which became the fifth sub-association of the ÖFV which took over the hosting of this championship. For geographical reasons, the tenants in Moravia and Silesia had been divided into two districts (Opava and Bielitz), although there was ultimately only one participant for Bielitz. The champion was then decided in the play-off of the district first, in which the DSV Troppau emerged as the winner for the second time.

    master Wisła Krakow

The Austrian championship for Poland, which was held for the first time in the 1912/13 season, was organized by the German Football Association for Poland , the fourth sub-association of the ÖFV based in Krakow. A silver cup was donated by the Krakow “Kuryeur Ilustrowany” as the winning prize. Wisła Krakau was able to win 1-0 in the decisive game against Cracovia thanks to a goal by Przystawski and thus become the first Austrian champions in Poland. Wisła had already won the Polish championship of the Lviv Society for Movement Games a year earlier, but this was not subject to the ÖFV and can therefore more or less be described as unofficial. Soon after the playoff, Cracovia protested that Wisła had three unauthorized players and was ultimately awarded the championship title at the green table.
