The Sportclub Südmark is a former football club from Vienna , which was represented in the second highest division in Austria from 1911 until its relegation in 1914 .

history

The football club SC Südmark was assigned to 2nd class A Vienna at the beginning of the first Austrian championship season in 1911/12. It was founded shortly before, but the date of foundation is not known. At that time the Austrian championship was still limited to Vienna, so that only the champions of this class could qualify for the top division in relegation games against the bottom of the first class. The SC Südmark initially held up well in the 1st class, in the 1912/13 season they only just missed promotion. At the winter break they were still third in the table, behind SC Wacker and SC Donaustadt . In the following season, however, things went significantly worse. The club fought against relegation. In total, only 4 wins could be achieved in 24 games. This meant the 13th and last place in the table for the Viennese. However, the sports club was only one point behind the Viennese movement players and two points on FC Sturm 07 . After SC Südmarks left the second division, the football club was dissolved during the First World War .
