    Salzburg 1st class

    General

After a joint league with the clubs from Upper Austria was played in the preseason , in which the 1st Salzburg SK was allowed to participate in 1919 , the Salzburg Football Association decided to introduce its own Salzburg regional class this season . The 1st SSK in 1919 was able to successfully defend this title after winning the first national championship title in the club's history the previous year without a fight. With the Salzburger AK 1914, the oldest football club in the state of Salzburg has now entered the championship. The footballers from Oberndorf , whose club, founded in 1921, was the oldest club outside the city, held up surprisingly well in the first year of the game . On the other hand, the two other Flachgau clubs from Neumarkt and Itzling , which until 1935 did not belong to the state capital, but was still part of the independent community of Gnigl , had no chance . Due to the difference in performance, both clubs had to retire from the league at the end of the season. No newcomers were admitted for the following season.
