Austrian football championship 1925/26
← 1924/25
The Austrian Football Championship 1926/27 was organized by the Vienna Football Association and contested by its members. The single-track II. League served as a substructure for the I. League . These leagues were only accessible to professional football clubs . In addition, other federal state associations organized state championships in different modes on an amateur basis.

The championship of the 1925/26 season had the Viennese amateurs firmly under control, on the way to the title stood among other things a glamorous 5-0 victory over district rivals Rapid on his parish way, in which Kálmán Konrád scored four times. The final decision was a bit strange, however, because the amateurs surprisingly lost 1: 3 at home in the penultimate round to the bottom of the table Hertha from Favoriten. A sensational result that was of no use to anyone, because Hertha was still relegated and the pursuers Vienna were defeated by Admira with 0: 1 and thus missed all chances for the title. The Viennese amateur SV was Austrian football champion for the second time; in the coming season the club played for the first time as FK Austria Wien.
