Career

Anton Brosenbauer began his career in the youth of the Brigittenauer AC , for whom he also played in the I. League from the 1927/28 season. At the financially burned out club, which was in a relegation battle, the winger was quickly a regular player and during the winter break of 1928, together with Josef Studenik, was sold to Vienna . If Anton Brosenbauer missed the victorious Cup final in 1929 due to an injury, he and his team celebrated his first title win in the 1930 Cup after beating Austria 1-0 . In the same year, Anton Brosenbauer came on March 23rd against Czechoslovakia for the first of his four international appearances in the Austrian national team .

After winning the Austrian championship in 1930/31 , Anton Brosenbauer caused a sensation with his club in the 1931 Mitropapokal . After two early eliminations in recent years, the club played through to the final, which became a purely Austrian affair against cup winners WAC . The blue-yellows were able to hold their own with 3: 2 and 2: 1. After the runner-up in 1932, Anton Brosenbauer was able to become champion with the Vienna again in 1932/33 . A torn ligament in the second round of the 1935/36 season put a more or less premature end to his career. In the autumn of 1937 he tried a comeback at FC Wien , where he played only a few games.
