Demo excerpt from the Central Register of Associations (Austria) with electronic signature (Association: EuropaUnion Vorarlberg).

The Central Register of Associations (ZVR) has been set up in Austria at the Federal Ministry of the Interior since January 1, 2006 and allows anyone to request an extract from the register of associations online free of charge (only individual inquiries), provided the association has not requested a ban. In order to clearly identify the clubs, each club in Austria has been assigned a nine-digit ZVR number . If the ZVR number has fewer than nine positive digits, leading zeros must always be included (e.g. 001234567). This is to be carried out by the associations in legal dealings ( Section 18 (3) of the Association Act 2002).

The online search in the ZVR is possible according to the ZVR number or the club name or its name components, possibly supplemented with the club's headquarters (place).

The extract from the association register generated after the query is electronically signed and is therefore an official document.

In addition to the query in TGC any information seekers can also provide information about any of the local competent as for the registration of associations Association authorities seek. These are the district authorities or the state police departments or the police commissioner , in Vienna only the state police department, in Krems an der Donau and Waidhofen an der Ybbs, however, the magistrate .
