The Gauliga Donau-Alpenland 1941/42 (also football sports division class Donau-Alpenland 1941/42 ) was the fourth season of the Gauliga Ostmark in annexed Austria. The First Vienna FC 1894 was the first time master of Gauliga and for the third time Austrian football champions are. As a result, Vienna qualified for the German football championship 1941/42, which was held this year in the knockout system . After victories over LSV Olmütz (1: 0), Germania Königshütte (1: 0) and Planitzer SC (3: 2), Vienna reached the semi-finals, which were also won 3: 2 against Blau-Weiß 90 Berlin . The final on July 4, 1942, however, was lost 2-0 to FC Schalke 04 . The fact that they dominated the game for a long time was bitter for Vienna but could not convert a myriad of goal opportunities into goals.

Relegated from the Gauliga was the bottom of the table Post SV Wien . Originally the season started with ten teams. However, SK Sturm Graz prematurely ended the game in February 1942 with 6 points from 11 games. Nevertheless, the team was allowed to participate in the Gauliga again next season. The affected games were canceled.
