Jan Boller (born March 14, 2000 in Siegen ) is a German football player . He has been under contract with the Austrian Bundesliga club LASK since July 2019 , for whose farm team FC Juniors OÖ he is deployed.

Jan Boller began his career at the age of six with the Bambinis of TSV Weißtal in his home town. In the following time he was used on the position of midfielder. After advancing to the E-Jugend, he went to TuS Wilnsdorf / Wilgersdorf and stayed there for two years until 2011; then he moved back to TSV Weißtal . During his second arrangement in Weißtal, scouts from Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen became aware of Boller. The first division signed him in 2013 for his C-youth.

During the 2015/16 season in the B-Junioren-Bundesliga , Boller played all 29 possible games. His team succeeded in the finals of the German championship. In the semi-final second leg against VfL Wolfsburg - the first leg ended 2-2 - he scored the decisive third goal for his team to win 3-2 away, which qualified them for the final. Bayer 04 beat Borussia Dortmund's B-Juniors there . Boller contributed to the success of his team with a total of three goals during the season. After another season in the B-Youth, he was promoted to the A-Youth of the club in 2017.

First steps as a professional

During his last season in the youth field, he received his first professional contract in February 2019. He had previously been a member of the men's team's matchday squad for the first time when he was called up as a substitute in the DFB Cup eighth final against 1. FC Heidenheim who was not used. Further appointments to the squad did not follow.

On July 31, 2019, Boller signed a contract with the Austrian Bundesliga club LASK that runs until mid-2021, including the option to extend it for another twelve months . There he should first gather match practice with the farm team , the second division club FC Juniors OÖ . Bayer 04 Leverkusen also secured an option for Bollers to sign back.

The defender made his debut in the second division in August 2019 when he was in the starting line-up against Kapfenberger SV on matchday three of the 2019/20 season.

National team

Boller played for a German youth national team for the first time in October 2015. In September 2016 he made his debut against the Netherlands for the U-17 team . In 2017 he also took part in the European Championship with this . There they failed in the semifinals to Spain . Boller was used in four of Germany's five games, only against Spain he was suspended. By participating in the semi-finals, they qualified for the World Cup in the same year in which Boller was also part of the team. With Germany he reached the quarter-finals, in which they failed against Brazil . He was used in four out of five games during the tournament.

In April 2019 he played for the U-19 team against Denmark .

Personal

Boller was born in Siegen in March 2000 and then grew up in the neighboring community of Wilnsdorf . At the age of 16, Boller was named Sportsman of the Year in his home community in March 2017 .
