Jean Ronny Johnsen (born June 10, 1969 in Sandefjord , Norway ) is a former Norwegian football player . He played in central defense.

Career

Johnsen began his professional career at the Norwegian club Stokke IL . The next stop was Eik-Tønsberg , which he left in 1991 for Lyn Oslo . In 1994 he moved to Lillestrøm SK . A season later he went to Beşiktaş Istanbul in Turkey . For the 1996/97 season he moved to the well-known English club Manchester United , with whom he was English champion four times (1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001). He also won the FA Cup , the UEFA Champions League and the World Cup in 1999 . In 2002 he moved within the Premier League to Aston Villa , which he left in 2004 for Newcastle United . There he was only used three times, which meant that he ended his career. After a year break, Johnsen was active again and signed a contract with Vålerenga IF for the 2005/06 season . On November 3, 2008 he finally ended his career.

National team

Johnsen played a total of 61 games for the Norwegian national football team between 1991 and 2004 . He scored three goals and took part with her in the 1998 World Cup.
