The Eredivisie 2009/10 was the 54th season of the highest Dutch football league . It began on July 31, 2009 and ended on May 2, 2010 with the 34th and final game day. FC Twente Enschede became champions for the first time .

The RKC Waalwijk had to relegate as the bottom of the table. Sparta Rotterdam and Willem II Tilburg would have to be relegated . Sparta Rotterdam failed in the relegation and had to relegate to the Eerste Divisie . Excelsior Rotterdam and Willem II Tilburg prevailed and play in the Eredivisie 2010/11 .
