Career

society

Boschker played at SV Longa 30 from his place of birth as a child , but switched to FC Twente in Enschede as a teenager. He made his debut in the Eredivisie at the age of 19 on November 26, 1989 in a home game against HFC Haarlem , in which he had to pull behind him twice in the first half - but only his own teammates could defeat him in his first game: both of them from Haarlem Goals at 2-2 were own goals , one of them by his future coach Fred Rutten . He had to wait almost two years for his second appearance, but then completed 23 games in his third professional season in the first team. Since the 1993/94 season he was the goalkeeper of Enscheder - except for the one season when he moved to Ajax Amsterdam in 2003 , but for which he was not used in the Eredivisie.

He has been a record player at FC Twente since November 12, 2006; in the 7-1 win against FC Groningen , he improved Epi Drost's old record with 423 appearances. By the end of the 2008/09 season he had 509 games in the honor division in his statistics, plus 57 cup and 27 international games for Twente.

According to Boschker, the highlight of his career was the 2001 cup final against PSV Eindhoven . In the decisive penalty shootout , he saved three penalties, which made Twente cup winner.

In 2009/10 Boschker won the national championship for the first time with Twente. With only 23 goals conceded in the course of the season, he conceded the second few of all top division teams. For the following season, Nikolaj Michajlow ousted Boschker as number one between the posts. He only made his Champions League debut on December 7, 2010, on the last day of the preliminary round against Tottenham Hotspur . In the 3: 3 against the English club Boschker kicked after a back pass from teammate Peter Wisgerhof over the ball and thus conceded the 0: 1.

On March 18, 2012 Boschker stood for the 550th time in a game of the Eredivisie for FC Twente between the posts. This also makes him the player with the most appearances for the same club in the Dutch premier league. He ended his career on May 20, 2014 with a farewell game in De Grolsch Veste .

National team

Boschker was a member of the Dutch national team several times . In March 2010, he replaced Michel Vorm from Utrecht as the third goalkeeper before the match against the USA . He made his international debut on June 1, 2010 in a 4-1 win against Ghana , when he came on for Michel Vorm at half time. At 39 years and 224 days he was the oldest international debutant in the Netherlands. He was surprisingly called up as the third goalkeeper in the squad of the Netherlands for the 2010 World Cup , but was not used there.
