Mads Junker (born April 21, 1981 in Humlebæk near Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player who has been under contract with the Belgian first division club KV Mechelen since 2012 .

Career

society

Junker began his professional career in 1999 with Lyngby BK in the Danish Super League . After he came to some missions, he was awarded the following season to the lower class club Fremad Amager . There the striker made his breakthrough. For the 2001/02 season Junker returned to Lyngby, where he came from then on to regular stakes. In the summer of 2003 he was finally committed to the Danish top club Brøndby IF . After the attacker was rarely used there, the BIF officials decided to loan him to Ølstykke FC , where he gained more match practice and scored over twenty goals. In 2004 he did not return to Brøndby, but signed an offer with league rivals FC Nordsjælland . At FCN , Junker made his breakthrough in the super league. The striker scored eleven goals for Nordsjælland in the first six months. In the period that followed, however, things went worse for Junker. In addition to sporting mixed performances, there were also problems in the attacker's personal area. So he cheated on teammates in poker and put himself on the sidelines in his club. After he was able to overcome the problems and was fined Junker, he was sporting again.

During the winter break of 2005/06 he moved to the Dutch Eredivisie representative Vitesse Arnheim , where he was to replace the departed Matthew Amoah . Soon he made it into the starting XI. At the beginning of the new season Junker then lost his regular place to Anduele Pryor . Because of this development, he thought aloud about a change. Vitesse put a stop to this intention and did not let the striker pull. In the summer of 2009, the club finally loaned him to Roda JC Kerkrade , where he scored 21 goals in 34 games. This made him the third top scorer in the league behind Luis Suárez and Bryan Ruiz . In the summer of 2010, Roda signed him permanently. That this decision should pay off was shown by Junker in the 2010/11 season when he scored twenty goals and put his team in sixth place in the Eredivisie. In addition, he finished third behind Björn Vleminckx and Dmitri Bulykin in the top scorer list of the top Dutch league. In 2012 he moved to KV Mechelen in Belgium .

National team

Junker already played in the youth teams of the Danish association before he was nominated for the senior national team for the first time. He made his debut for this on August 16, 2006 in the friendly against Poland when he came on for Nicklas Bendtner in the 67th minute . He then had to wait four years before being called again. The striker's only hit for the national team so far was on August 11, 2010 in a 2-2 draw against Germany .
