Cees Paauwe (born November 3, 1977 in Dronten ) is a Dutch football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with the Dutch first division club Excelsior Rotterdam since summer 2010 .
Career
Paauwe played at FC Twente Enschede between 1995 and 2000 . In his first year with the professionals, he made his debut in the Eredivisie . He had to wait until 1998/99 for his next league appearance. In the meantime, Paauwe was constantly overshadowed by Sander Boschker , the unconditional number one at FC Twente.
In the summer of 2000 he finally moved to the Eerste Divisie for SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden . There the ascent should take place after the descent, which was missed twice.
In 2002 the goalkeeper went back to Enschede and became a regular goalkeeper the following year after Boschker was transferred to Ajax Amsterdam . He played 21 league games. Up until then and after that, Paauwe never made more than five appearances per Eredivisie season. After Boschker's return for the 2003/04 season, Paauwe moved back to second position.
In the winter break of the same season he therefore moved to league competitor ADO Den Haag . But after a year and a half he moved back to Enschede. Once there, there was a single league game and most of the time acted as the third goalkeeper behind Nikolaj Michajlow and Sander Boschker.
In the summer of 2010 he moved to the newly promoted Excelsior Rotterdam , where he has held a regular place in goal since the beginning of the season.
