Patrick Paauwe (born December 27, 1975 in Dronten ) is a former Dutch football player .
Career
society
Paauwe started his professional career in 1993 at PSV Eindhoven . In 1995 he moved to De Graafschap . A season later he moved to Fortuna Sittard . For the 1998/99 season he moved to Feyenoord Rotterdam , where he enjoyed great success: in 1999 he was the Dutch champion with the Rotterdamers and winner of the Johan Cruyff Schaal (Dutch Supercup ). In 2002 the team won the UEFA Cup . For the 2006/07 season Paauwe moved to Valenciennes FC . In the summer break of 2007 Paauwe moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach , where he was an important player in the team's promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with 33 appearances and 3 goals. However, he lost his regular place in the following season. In June 2009 Paauwe was banned from the professional squad. On July 10, 2009 he returned to the Dutch Eredivisie and joined VVV Venlo on a free transfer . Here he played another year and a half. On January 30, 2011, the 35-year-old declared his career over. The main reason was his recurring back pain; in addition, the former team captain under coach Wil Boessen was not taken into account in the last game before his resignation.
