Dario Vujičević (born April 1, 1990 in Sarajevo , SFR Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a German - Croatian football player of Bosnian origin. The midfielder was most recently in the professional squad of the Dutch first division club Heracles Almelo .
Career
societies
Vujičević was born in Sarajevo. Two years later, when the Bosnian War broke out, he and his family moved to Germany and settled in Gronau . There he played soccer for SpVg Emsdetten 05 .
From 2001 to 2007 he played for the youth teams of FC Schalke 04 before he moved to the junior division of the Dutch club FC Twente Enschede .
In the course of the 2008/09 season he was taken up by coach Steve McClaren in the professional squad of Enscheder, but played most games for the reserve team of the club. On April 24, 2009 he finally made his debut in the Eredivisie . In the game against SC Heerenveen Vujičević came on in the 85th minute for Niels Wellenberg . In the 2009/10 season he was used more regularly and was able to celebrate the first Dutch championship in the club's history with Twente at the end of the season.
In January 2011, he was loaned to league competitor VVV-Venlo until the end of the season. At the end of January 2012, his contract with Twente was terminated.
For the 2012/13 season Vujičević was committed by the Dutch first division club Heracles Almelo . He signed a two-year contract until the end of June 2014 with an option for another year.
National team
Vujičević has played eight games for Croatia's U-21 national team so far.
