Wellington (born February 11, 1988 in Ourinhos , São Paulo ; actually Wellington Luís de Sousa ) is a Brazilian soccer player . He mainly plays in the position of the center forward .
Career
Wellington played in his youth for the Internacional Porto Alegre and began his professional career there in 2007. In the same year he was awarded the AD São Caetano . In 2008 he played on loan at Náutico Capibaribe , before Internacional Wellington sold it to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on August 7, 2008 . On February 7, 2009 Wellington scored his first Bundesliga goal with a header in the 89th minute in the game against Borussia Mönchengladbach , after he had previously only been substituted in the 86th minute.
In the summer break of 2009 Wellington was loaned to the Dutch first division club FC Twente until the end of the season. After Twente was not interested in buying it, it was decided to loan it to the second division Fortuna Düsseldorf for the 2010/11 season . Fortuna also received a purchase option. In December 2010, after Wellington had scored a goal for Fortuna in six games, the loan agreement was terminated early by mutual agreement.
Wellington was awarded for the third time in January 2011. The loan deal with Figueirense FC was originally supposed to run from January to December 2011. The loan contract was terminated early in July 2011 and Wellington was loaned to Goiás EC . His loan contract ran until the end of the year. He was then awarded to the CA Linense until the end of the season. After the loan ended, his contract, which ran until June 30, 2013, was terminated by TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
