Nikita Rukavytsya ( Ukrainian Микита Вадимович Рукавиця / Mykyta Wadymowytsch Rukawyzja, Russian Никита Вадимович Рукавица / Nikita Vadimovich Rukawiza * 22. June 1987 in Mykolaiv , Ukrainian SSR ) is an Australian football player .

Career

society

Rukavytsya started playing football in Ukraine with Torpedo Mykolaiv. At the age of 14 he moved with his parents to Perth, Australia . In 2001 he went to Inglewood United and in 2003 to Perth SC , where he made his debut in the State League at the age of 17. Between 2005 and 2006 he received a scholarship from the Australian Institute of Sport .

Towards the end of the 2006/07 season Rukavytsya was equipped by Perth Glory with a short-term contract for the final games of the season. He made his debut in the A-League on January 7, 2007 in a 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory . At the end of the season, in which he came to two more missions, he was equipped by Perth Glory with a two-year contract. He was loaned back to Perth SC for the first half of the 2007 State League season. After a bumpy start to the 2007/08 season , he scored six goals in the last nine games of the season. In addition to a number of appearances in the Australian Olympic team, this also brought him a call to the senior national team and a trial training session with the German Bundesliga club Hannover 96 . After ten goals in 19 games in the 2008/09 season , he completed a trial training session at the Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede in January 2009 and finally moved to Twente for an estimated 1.2 million Australian dollars .

At Twente he could not assert himself in the following twelve months and finally moved in January 2010 on loan to the relegation-threatened Belgian first division club KSV Roeselare , for whom he scored four goals in nine league appearances by the end of the season; the relegation was missed in the subsequent relegation games. There was no return to Twente after the club decided not to extend his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season.

For the 2010/11 season Rukavytsya moved to Hertha BSC in the 2nd Bundesliga on a free transfer . With 31 appearances and four goals, he was involved in winning the Berlin championship and promotion to the Bundesliga . In the 2011/12 season he made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha BSC, but only became a regular under Otto Rehhagel .

Shortly before the end of the transfer period in summer 2012, Rukavytsya moved to 1. FSV Mainz 05 . He signed a three-year contract in Mainz. After only a few appearances in his first year, he was loaned out to the second division club FSV Frankfurt for a year in September 2013. On October 13, 2014, he moved to the Western Sydney Wanderers in the Australian A-League . After 28 games (four goals), he left the club in May 2015 and moved to Israel to Beitar Jerusalem in September 2015 .

National team

In July 2008 Rukavytsya was nominated by trainer Graham Arnold for the Olympic football tournament in China and came there to three missions. In the Australian senior team , he made his debut in August 2009 in a friendly against Ireland. In 2010 he was part of the Australian squad at the World Cup in South Africa. In the course of the tournament he came to two appearances as a substitute.
