The Ligat ha'Al 2009/10 was the eleventh season of the highest Israeli football league under this name, and the 60th season overall.

Hapoel Tel Aviv won both the championship and the cup .

mode

A new league format was introduced at the start of the season. First, the 16 teams played a preliminary round in a simple round-trip. Then the league was split, with each group playing an easy round. The points from the preliminary round were halved, with an odd number of points being rounded up.

  • The first six teams played for the championship title and the international starting places.
  • The teams in places seven to ten played for the placements.
  • The six worst teams played for relegation or relegation place.

In the event of a tie, the placement was determined based on the following criteria:

  2. Number of games won
  3. goals scored
  4. direct comparison
  5. Playoff
