The Hønefoss BK ( Hønefoss Boldklubb short: HBK ) is a football club from the Norwegian town of Hønefoss in Buskerud . The club plays its home games in the AKA Arena, which holds 4,373 spectators . The club colors are green and black.
history
The association, founded on February 4, 1895 as IF Liv , was renamed several times in the course of its history due to mergers with Fossekallen IF and Hønefoss AIL , before it was given its current name in 2002.
In 2007 it was decided to build a new stadium. After two years of construction, a stadium with a seating capacity of 4,373 was completed, the AKA Arena named after the sponsor - a construction company .
After being promoted to the Tippeligaen in 2009 , the club's first ever season in the top Norwegian league, Hønefoss had to relegate again in the 2010 season . As champions of the Adeccoligaen in the 2011 season , he was promoted directly back to the Tippeliga .
After two years, the club went back to the 1st division in 2014 and another two years later in the third-class PostNord-Liga . After three years, he was further relegated to the fourth-class Norsk Tipping League.
Women's soccer
In 2015, a department for women's football was created, which competed in the 4th divisjon kvinner . After two years, 29 victories in a row and two promotions, they finished first in the 2nd divisjon kvinner , but failed in the play-off games. A year later (2018), she was promoted to the 1st divisjon fotball for kvinner 2019, Norway's 2nd women's league, where it immediately took 2nd place.
