Season course
Rosenborg BK won the Norwegian championship for the eighth time in a row. It was also the 14th championship for the team. They also secured the trophy and thus achieved the sixth double of the championship and the cup.
At the beginning of the season, Molde was at the top of the table several times. From the eighth match day onwards there was only Rosenborg as the leader of the table. But the team was only able to set a maximum of five points away from the competition. Until a few game days before the end of the season there were still several teams that could win the Tippeligaen. With five wins in a row and simultaneous failures by the other teams, Rosenborg was able to set itself apart. On matchday 24, they secured the championship early. Molde was able to secure second place with a win in the last game against direct competitor Lillestrøm. The promoted Odd Grenland could hold in the Tippeligaen . The second promoted Skeid Oslo, however, had to relegate to the 1st division.
