The Hovedserien 1957/58 was the 14th season of the highest Norwegian football league and the tenth season under the name Hovedserien . The season began on July 28, 1957 and ended with the final on June 22, 1958.

mode

The 16 teams played against each other in two groups, each with eight teams, in a simple game round with a return game, so that each team played 14 games. The two last placed had to be relegated.

The champion was determined in a final game between the two group winners. Compared to the previous season, some of the groups have been redistributed.

season

Viking Stavanger became Norwegian champion for the first time. The team prevailed 2-0 against Skeid Oslo in the final .

Of the newcomers, only Molde FK had to relegate. Brann Bergen , Eik IF and Raufoss IL were able to stay in the Hovedserien .
