Strømsgodset Idrettsforening shortly Strømsgodset IF is a Norwegian football club from Drammen . The association was founded on February 10, 1907 . The club became internationally known for its competitive football department , which operates under the name Strømsgodset Toppfotball , but is known in German-speaking countries under the general club name. Since the 2007 season, the club has been playing again in the Eliteserien , the top division in Norwegian football. Shortly after the end of the 2005 season, the club was bought by some local millionaires, with Atle Kittelsen at the helm.

Since 1967 the club has played its home games in the Marienlyst Stadium in Drammen.

successes

The club had its greatest period in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when it won three trophies and a championship. The continuous development work of the meticulously working talented coach Ronny Deila made a major contribution in 2013 to Strømsgodset celebrating his second championship title in club history on November 10, 2013.
