The FK Mladá Boleslav is a Czech football club from the Central Bohemian city of Mladá Boleslav (German Jungbunzlau ). He has played in the Synot Liga (Gambrinus Liga until 2014), the 1st Czech league , since 2004 . It was founded in 1909 by students as SK Mladá Boleslav.
Club history
The first club in town was a student team, which in 1910 became Mladoboleslavský SK. Aston Villa Mladá Boleslav was founded in 1919 , and Slavoj Mladá Boleslav was established in the same year. None of these clubs got beyond the second highest division. In 1942 the Mladoboleslavský SK failed in qualifying for the first division, as did Aston Villa Mladá Boleslav in 1944 at SK Rakovník.
1950 came the amalgamation of all city clubs to Sokol AZNP Mladá Boleslav, who played alternately in the 2nd or 3rd league. 1977 / 78 carŠkoda Mladá Boleslav only lost in the final of the Czech Cup Baník Ostrava . Without the support of the automobile works, the club was relegated to the 3rd division in 1992 and even in the Bohemian Division (4th division) in 1995 . Soon after, two promotions followed, so that FK Mladá Boleslav was back in second place from 1998 . During these years the city supported the association, which was converted into a stock company. In 2002, the ŠKODA automotive group became the most important donor, the goal now being promotion to the first division.
This goal was achieved in 2004, in the first year with the 14th place of relegation. The 2005/06 season was extremely successful, the FK Mladá Boleslav the surprise team of the Gambrinus League . With the 2nd place the club qualified for participation in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League , in which Mladá Boleslav was able to prevail against Vålerenga Oslo 3-1 and 2-2. In the third round, the team was eliminated against Galatasaray Istanbul . Mladá Boleslav qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Cup via Olympique Marseille (0-1 and 4-2). The same happened in 2007/08, when they defeated US Palermo in the first round with 0: 1 and 1: 0 and won the penalty shoot-out 4: 2 . 2011, the club won the Czech Cup (4: 3 i. E. on SK Sigma Olomouc ).

Club names
1950 AS Aston Villa Mladá Boleslav, Slavoj Mladá Boleslav, SK Meteor Čejetičky and Mladoboleslavský SK merged to become Sokol AZNP Mladá Boleslav. It was renamed in 1950 to Spartak AZNP Mladá Boleslav, 1961 to TJ Spartak Mladá Boleslav, 1965 to TJ Škoda Mladá Boleslav, 1971 to TJ Autoškoda Mladá Boleslav, 1990 to FK Mladá Boleslav, 1992 to FK Slavia Mladá Boleslav, 1994 to FK Bohemians Mladá Boleslav and in 1995 FK Mladá Boleslav.
