Martin Pulpit (born January 29, 1967 in Prague ) is a former Czech soccer player and current soccer coach .

Player career

In his youth, Martin Pulpit played for TJ Horní Měcholupy, FC Bohemians Prague and Viktoria Žižkov . In the senior sector he wore the jersey of mostly smaller Prague teams, from 1990 to 1992 he played for the second team of the Bohemians. He ended his career after the 1995/96 season in Dobřejovice .

Coaching career

Martin Pulpit started working as a coach at the age of 18 and coached the youth teams of TJ Dolní Počernice, Slavoj Vyšehrad and ČKD Kompresory.

His first position in the senior division was from 1996 to 1998 in the third division Pelikán Děčín. 1998/99 he looked after the second division club FC Vítkovice, but was dismissed six games before the end of the season. Then Pulpit worked for two years in the second division at FK AS Pardubice. For the second half of 2002/03 he took over FK Mladá Boleslav in the same league , but left the club after six months. In early 2004, he replaced Vladimír Táborský as the coach of SK Hradec Králové , but was dismissed after eight games. In 2004/05 he only narrowly failed with Viktoria Plzen on promotion to the first division.

The following season Pulpit worked again in Pardubice . When the club sold its second division license to Baník Sokolov in the summer of 2006, Martin Pulpit went to Sokolov in addition to numerous players , leading the team to sixth place.

In June 2007 he signed a one-year contract with Sigma Olomouc with an option for a further year. In April 2008, the club's management decided to dismiss Pulpit again.

From July to November 2009 Pulpit worked as the sports director for the Polish first division club Odra Wodzisław. From 2010 Pulpit has coached the Czech second division club FK Baník Most .
