Dušan Uhrin junior (born October 11, 1967 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech football player and current coach .

Player career

Dušan Uhrin played for Meteor Prague and FC Bohemians Prague in his youth . In 1984 he returned to Meteor and played for the men's team. After two years he moved to Montáže Prague, in 1988 he went to FC Jílové. There he was seriously injured and then concentrated mainly on the coaching profession. In 1990 he moved to RH Strašnice, where he was also a coach, from 1991 to 1998 he played again, if only on the side, for FC Jílové.

Coaching career

Uhrin began his coaching career at the age of 23 in 1990 at RH Strašnice. From 1992 to 1994 he trained PSK Union Prague. In 1994 he took over Slavoj Vyšehrad and rose with the team from the fifth to the fourth division. 1997/98 he coached the B-team from Sparta Prague in the third division. There he saw no perspective after a year and took over Tatran Poštorná in the second division . In 2000 Uhrin trained the B-Team of Slavia Prague , in early 2001 he became an assistant coach at Slavia.

For the 2002/03 season he was assistant coach at FC Bohemians Prague and replaced Vladimír Borovička as head coach on matchday 5 . He could not prevent relegation to the second division. He was replaced by Zdeněk Hruška , but took over the coaching position again in early 2004. The team missed the promotion by three points. In October 2004 he became a coach at FK Mladá Boleslav , who was promoted to last place in the table. Uhrin led the team to relegation and surprisingly to second place in the following season.

In the 2006/07 season, Mladá Boleslav played for the championship, ultimately finished third and qualified for the 2007/08 UEFA Cup . Uhrin left the club after the end of the season and signed a contract with the Romanian first division club Politehnica Timișoara on November 26, 2007 . After being released in Timișoara , Uhrin became sports director at league competitor CFR Cluj in early January 2009 , but was released there on April 5, 2009.

In May 2009 Uhrin returned to Mladá Boleslav . In December, Uhrin and FK Mladá Boleslav terminated the open-ended contract. Only a short time later, the Czech signed a contract with the Cypriot first division club AEL Limassol . In mid-December 2010 he returned to Romania for FC Timișoara . There he was able to complete the 2010/11 season as runner-up behind Oțelul Galați . However, the club was not approved for the 2011/12 season and had to relegate to League II . At the end of July 2011, Timișoara and Uhrin parted ways. After a year without a job, he was hired as head coach for Georgian record champions Dinamo Tbilisi in June 2012 . After winning the Umaghlessi League with Dinamo Tbilisi, his involvement in Tbilisi ended on December 6, 2013. On December 17, 2013 Uhrin was introduced as the coach of FC Viktoria Plzeň . There he replaced Pavel Vrba who left the club to coach the Czech national team.

At the beginning of 2017 Uhrin became the sporting director, from summer 2017 also the head coach of FK Mladá Boleslav. In February 2018 he left the club.
