Coaching career

He began his coaching career in 1969 as a youth coach at Admira Prague, in 1974 he took over the first team there. For the 1976/77 season he was coach at Sparta Prague , which had just been promoted to the first division, but stayed there only a few months. 1977/78 he worked for the Algerian club CM Belcourt , with which he won the Algerian Cup. 1978/79 he coached the Czech second division team TJ Kolín. In 1980/81 he was a trainer at Spartak Hradec Králové . From 1981 to 1983 he was again at Sparta Prague. He then spent four years as a trainer at RH Cheb , which was one of the most successful in the army club. In 1987/88 he trained Bohemians Prague . He then went to Cyprus for one season to look after the AEL Limassol team .

In 1989 he returned to RH Cheb and stayed there for a year and a half before taking over Sparta Prague for the third time in his career. By 1993 Uhrin had won two championship titles and the Czechoslovak Cup.

In 1994 he became the coach of the Czech national team , which he was in charge of until 1997. In 48 games he has 27 wins and 10 draws. His greatest achievement was the silver medal at the 1996 European Championships in England.

For the 2001/02 season he returned to the Czech Republic and took over FK Teplice , but was dismissed after the 13th game day due to unsuccessfulness. From June to November 2002 he trained the AIK Solna team , which he saved from relegation. Due to excessive stress, he asked for it to be terminated at the end of the season despite the current contract.
