Zdeněk Hruška (born July 25, 1954 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach . The goalkeeper , who spent most of his career at Bohemians Prague , represented Czechoslovakia 24 times as a national player and took part in the 1982 World Cup.

Club career

Hruška began his career with Slavoj Vyšehrad, whom he left in 1974 to do two years of military service. From 1976 the goalkeeper played for Bohemians Prague , with whom he won the Czech Cup in 1982 and was Czechoslovak champion in 1983. After nine years with Bohemians, he moved to Slavia Prague in 1985, where he stayed for two years. In the 1987/88 season the goalkeeper played for the Greek club Veria FC . He then returned to Bohemians Prague. After only one season he went abroad again, this time to Wacker / Groß Viktoria in the Regionalliga Ost . In 1990 Hruška moved to FAC Viktoria Wien , where he ended his career as a player- coach in 1992 .

In the 1st Czechoslovak league Hruška completed 247 games.

National team

In the Czechoslovak national team , Hruška made his debut on November 9, 1977 in a friendly against Hungary. He missed participation in the 1980 European Championship due to an injury. In the first group game of the 1982 World Cup , he did not convince, the ČSSR only played a 1-1 draw against Kuwait . In the second game against England was Stanislav Seman in goal. Hruška's last game out of a total of 24 in Czechoslovakia was a 1-1 draw against Romania on November 30, 1983.

Coaching career

Hruška was initially an assistant at Bohemians Prague from 1992, and in 1995 he was head coach. His next stations were the fourth division FC Turnov and the third division VT Chomutov. In the 1997/98 season he was assistant coach at Slovan Liberec , and from 1999 to 2001 he worked as a goalkeeper coach at Tennis Borussia Berlin . He then coached the Prague club FSC Libuš. In the summer of 2003 he took over Bohemians Prague again, but was released in November. He later returned to the FSC Libuš.
