history

Founding and mediocrity (2000-2010)

The association was created in 2000 under the name Dostyk Schymkent from the merger of two Schymkent associations, Schiger Schymkent and Tomiris Schymkent . In 2003 it was renamed Ordabassy Schymkent .

Schiger was founded in 1960 as Jenbek Schymkent . The next year the club was renamed Metallurg Schymkent . In 1981 the name was changed to Meliorator Schymkent and in 1992 to Schiger.

In 1998 Tomiris was founded. One year 1999 the team ran under the name Sintez Schymkent .

After the 2001 season , the club rose from the super league to the first division , but managed to get promoted again after a third place. In 2007 Ordabassy was in the final of the Kazakh Cup. In the central stadium in Taras , however, Tobol Qostanai proved to be the stronger team after a 3-0 draw.

Successes and international debut (since 2012)

After finishing the 2011 season in a good sixth place, the team celebrated winning the Kazakh Cup in November for the first time in the club's history. In the final of the 2011 edition in the Almaty Central Stadium , Muchtar Muchtarow scored the winning goal to make it 1-0 against Tobyl Qostanai and gave Ordabassy the greatest success in the club's history.

With the cup victory in the previous year, Ordabassy took part in the hosting of the Kazakh Supercup 2012. On March 6th, the first win of the Supercup was celebrated here. Last year's champions, Shakhtar Qaraghandy , were defeated 1-0 by captain Qairat Aeschirbekov's goal in front of 12,000 spectators in the Astana Arena . As a cup winner, the club had also qualified for participation in the UEFA Europa League . At their international debut, they faced FK Jagodina from Serbia in the first qualifying round . After the team won the first leg, a 0-0 draw in the second leg was enough to reach the next round. Here you had to compete against the Norwegian representative Rosenborg Trondheim . With an overall balance of 3: 4 goals Ordabassy just barely missed the next round.

Stadion

The club plays its home games in the Kaschymukan Munaitpassov Stadium , which has a capacity of 20,000 and was opened in 1969.
