The next year, the first runner-up was two points behind Irtysh Pavlodar . In addition, the club was in the cup final, but the opponent Kairat Almaty was able to prevail 3-1. The 2004 championship ended the club in third place.

Also in the following years Tobyl played for the championship, which resulted from the commitment of Dmitri Ogai as head coach. In addition to the vice championships in 2005 and 2007, the club reached third place in the 2006 season. In 2007, winning the Kazakh Cup was celebrated for the first time.
