The Passo Duran ( 1605 m slm ) is a little known pass in the southern Dolomites ( Italy ) and is located in the province of Belluno in the Veneto region between the mountain groups of the Civetta and Moiazza in the northwest and the Prampèr Dolomites in the southeast.
The often very narrow, winding road (closed in winter) SP 347 connects Agordo in Val Cordevole with Dont in Val di Zoldo over a distance of approx. 22 km and with a maximum gradient of 15% . At the top of the pass, from which there is an impressive view of Monte Pelmo , there are two inns (Rifugio Tomé, Rifugio San Sebastiano).
The two inns on the pass represent a possible stage destination on the long-distance hiking trail from Munich to Venice . In addition, the Dolomiten-Höhenweg 1 touches the pass and, coming from the west, leads from the Rifugio Carestiato in the Moiazza group to what is largely unknown in German-speaking countries Area of Monte Tàmer ( 2547 m slm ) and Monte Talvena ( 2542 m slm ). A worthwhile mountain tour is the ascent of the eastern Cima San Sebastiano ( 2420 m slm ).
