The Finero Pass ( Italian Passo Finero ) represents the east-west connection between Lake Maggiore and the Centovalli .
Street
The road on both sides of the pass is twisted and moderately wide. In the road section near Cursolo, the dangerous sections were defused by tunnels at the end of the 1980s.
Sports
Cycling
The pass is often used by racing cyclists on Sundays. There are two medium-sized road bike tours. On the northern 70 km tour for the route via Cannobio on the Finero Pass to Malesco. From there north over the Centovalli in Switzerland to Locarno and back on the western shore of Lake Maggiore to Cannobio. Another variant leads via Cannobio to the Finero Pass to Malesco. From there southwest via Domodossola in the direction of Lake Mergozzo to Verbania . From there on the western shore of the lake back to Cannobio.
hike
There are numerous hiking trails in the Cannobino Valley. However, the condition of the paths is nowhere near as well maintained as in the German-speaking Alps. The tourist associations often use old donkey paths from village to village.

Tunnel bypass
The tunnel passages at Cursolo can still be used on the remains of the old SS631 by foot or by bike.
Finero war memorial
At the western / upper exit of Fineros there is a memorial in honor of the fallen soldiers and partisans of the Second World War .
Cavaglino-Spoccia suspension bridges
4.8 kilometers west of Cannobio you can see the remains of two suspension bridges that were used until the turn of the millennium. It connects the villages of Cavaglio and Spoccia on the northern side of the Cannobino valley with the SS631.
