The Passo d'Eira is a 2210 m slm high road pass in the Italian province of Sondrio , which connects the Passo di Foscagno with Livigno . The area is part of the mountain range Livigno Alps and the Region of Lombardy .
The town of Trepalle , a district of Livigno, which can be reached from the main town via this pass, is by its own account the highest permanently inhabited place in Europe. However, this title is also claimed by the Swiss Juf .
