Juf is a fraction of the Swiss valley community of Avers in the canton of Graubünden . It is at 2126 m above sea level. M. and thus above the tree line . Juf is considered the highest settlement in Switzerland that is inhabited all year round and one of the highest in Europe.

Around 30 people from six Walser families live in Juf . In addition to some residential buildings, there is an inn, several holiday apartments, a tourist camp and a post office.
Due to its exceptional altitude, the village is often the starting point for bike or hiking tours to the Septimer , Splügen , Julier and San Bernardino passes , to Maloja , Bivio or to Bergell . In winter Juf is the starting point for ski tours. In the valley there are no tourist facilities apart from two ski lifts at Juppa.

Juf is the end point of today's Averser Kantonsstrasse and thus the motorized traffic, as well as the former, partially preserved and reconstructed Alte Averserstrasse , which serves as a hiking route. Juf is served eight times a day by the Postbus .
