Agordo ( Ladin Ègort, German Augarten ) is a northeast Italian municipality (comune) with 4080 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Belluno in Veneto . The municipality is located about 21 kilometers northwest of Belluno on the Cordevole . Agordo belongs to the Ladin language island.
Economy and Transport
The railway line from Bribano to Agordo has been closed since 1955. The regional road 203 connects Agordo with Belluno in the south and Alleghe in the north. Provincial road 347 leads east over Passo Duran to Forno di Zoldo in Val di Zoldo .
Culture
The Union dei Ladign de Agort upholds the Ladin language and culture.
Community partnerships
Agordo maintains an intra-Italian partnership with the municipality of Zugliano in the province of Vicenza and a partnership with the French municipality of Dolomieu in the Isère department .
