Fonzaso is a north-eastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3128 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Belluno in Veneto . The municipality is located about 34.5 kilometers southwest of Belluno on the Cismon .
history
The village of Fonzaso was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century. Throughout history it has belonged to the Ezzelini family .

Strada Statale 50 del Grappa e del Passo Rolle runs through the municipality . During the First World War , Fonzaso was the field station of the Feltre – Fonzaso – Fastro field railway, built by the Italian armed forces, with a gauge of 600 mm.
