Santo Stefano di Cadore is a northeastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2474 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Belluno in Veneto . The municipality is located about 50 kilometers north-northeast of Belluno in Cadore (or in Comelico ) and borders directly on the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and the Austrian state of Tyrol . Here the Padola flows into the Piave . Until 1894 the municipality was still called Comelico Inferiore .
