Cibiana di Cadore ( Ladin : Žubiana ) is a municipality ( comune ) in northern Italy with 378 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Belluno in Veneto . The municipality is located about 28.5 kilometers north-northeast of Belluno in Cadore .

The former Strada statale 347 del Passo Cereda e del Passo Duran (now a provincial road) leads through the municipality from Fiera di Primiero to Valle di Cadore .

The Ladin village receives its tourist impulse, in addition to its location in the heart of the Dolomites and near the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo , through the numerous artistic wall paintings (murales) on the walls of the old stone houses and the "Museum in the Clouds" the locations of the Messner Mountain Museum project.
Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites - "Museum in the clouds". In 2002 the "Museum in the Clouds" was opened on Monte Rite (2180 m above sea level). It is housed in a former fort from the First World War , which is dedicated to the element "rock" and the history of exploration and mountaineering in the Dolomites. The museum is part of the Messner Mountain Museum project curated by the famous South Tyrolean mountaineer Reinhold Messner .
