Borgo Valbelluna is located on the Piave at the foot of the Dolomites . It is located about 15 km east-northeast of Feltre and 15 km west-southwest of Belluno.

Borgo Valbelluna was formed on January 30, 2019 from the municipalities of Trichiana , Mel and Lentiai . The administrative seat is Mel.
