Valdobbiadene (pronunciation: [ valdobˈbjaːdene ]) is a northern Italian municipality in the Veneto region in the province of Treviso . It is located 4 km from the left bank of the Piave and has 10,259 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is 254 m slm
The neighboring municipalities are Alano di Piave ( BL ), Farra di Soligo , Borgo Valbelluna (BL), Miane , Pederobba , Segusino , Quero Vas (BL) and Vidor .
wine growing
The place is, like all of Veneto, also known for its viticulture. The Glera grape in particular is grown here for the production of Proseccos .
Since August 1st, 2009 there are only two types of Prosecco:
- Prosecco DOC is produced in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and the provinces of Belluno , Padua , Treviso , Venice and Vicenza of Veneto.
- Prosecco DOCG is produced in the areas of Conegliano , Valdobbiadene and Asolo . It is then called Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene or Prosecco Asolo .

Since 2005 there has been a twinning with the Hungarian city of Mór , which is also located in a well-known wine-growing region.
