Giancarlo Zizola

Giancarlo Zizola (born April 13, 1936 in Valdobbiadene , Treviso Province , † September 14, 2011 in Munich ) was an Italian journalist and publicist .

Giancarlo Zizola was already involved in Catholic Action during his studies . In 1961 he worked for the L'Osservatore Romano . He reported on the Second Vatican Council and worked for newspapers such as the Milan daily Il Giorno , the weekly Panorama , the economic daily Il Sole 24 Ore and the most important Italian daily La Repubblica .

Zizola published over thirty books. He was considered a proven expert on the Vatican .

He died of a heart attack at an interreligious meeting of the Sant'Egidio community in Munich.
