Moriago della Battaglia is a northeastern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2809 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Treviso in Veneto . The municipality is located about 24.5 kilometers north-northwest of Treviso on the Piave .
history
Moriago della Battaglia was first mentioned as Murliago in 1112. At Moriago the Italian troops managed to cross the Piave during the First World War on October 27, 1918 during the Battle of Vittorio Veneto . Since 1962, the community has therefore been nicknamed della Battaglia .
