Godega di Sant'Urbano is a north-east Italian municipality (comune) with 5970 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Treviso in Veneto . The municipality is located about 31.5 kilometers northeast of Treviso .

history

The place name Godega is derived from the corruption of the Latin word for the Goths. The existence of a well has been proven for the 13th century. This was extensively restored in 2004. Around 1420 the place and its surrounding lands came under the rule of Sacile in Friuli Venezia Giulia, only to become part of the Republic of Venice a little later .

Godega di Sant'Urbano has had a partnership with the French municipality of L'Isle-en-Dodon in the Haute-Garonne department since 2006 .
